October Events

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  I love cool weather, pumpkins, fall festivals, leaves changing colors, Halloween, and special events that I get to experience with my students during this time of year.

Last week we had a busy, fun week.  On Wednesday, the class got to perform at the Savannah Children's Theatre.

On Thursday, students got to spend time with classmates playing games, getting their faces painted, and  decorating cookies during the Second Grade Fall Festival.  I would like to send out a special thanks to all of my parents for sending in items needed for this day and I would especially like to thank the parents that volunteered their time to help make this event a success.

Friday evening, students had the opportunity to get treats as they visited many different decorated trunks at the first annual Trunk or Treat.

Donors Choose

My students and I were very fortunate to receive donations to fund projects through Donors Choose.  We were able to receive class sets of books and math activity centers to allow students to review content once it is taught.  Donors Choose is a wonderful organization that helps teachers and students get the materials/resources they need.  If you are interested in helping our classroom receive more materials, please click on the Donors Choose image on the left of the screen to be connected to my current projects.  There is a great matching opportunity going on until October 15th.  Any donation will be matched when you enter the code PUMPKIN during checkout.  Every dollar goes a long way, especially during the matching opportunity.  Please share this opportunity with family and friends.  Thank you for your support!
