December Birthdays

I would like to wish my December students a very Happy Birthday!!

Best Wishes to Mrs. Peterman

On November 22nd, we had to say our goodbyes to Mrs. Peterman.  Mrs. Peterman was a great student teacher that really cared for all of my students.  She helped make learning fun with all of her creative ideas.  She is already greatly missed.  We wish her the best on her future endeavors. 

Matter Fun

 In science, students got to enjoy a week of exploration as they discovered the states of matter through different experiments.  Students got to explore mixtures, change matter from one state to another by making ice cream, butter, and a bouncy ball, and get inside a "bubble" to observe how a gas takes the shape of its container.  The students had a blast!

A special thank you goes out to my awesome parents for sending in all the supplies needed to make the week of experiments a success.

Career on Wheels

On November 9th, students got to learn more about different careers by listening to members of the community share information about their job.

Happy Fall Y'all

Last Thursday, students were given the chance to celebrate the season of fall by participating in The Second Grade Fall Festival. Students had a great time visiting the multiple booths at the celebration, and loved all of the candy and prizes they were able to take home from the event. Thank you to all the parents who donated materials and helped out at the festival! The event wouldn’t have been a success without all of your help!

50's Day

On Monday, students celebrated the fiftieth day of school with 50’s inspired activities. The class had a great time dressing the part in poodle skirts, rolled jeans, and slicked back hair. Throughout the day the students created multiple 50’s inspired projects, listened to music from the decade, practiced their moves at a class sock hop, and enjoyed a classic root beer/coke float. The students all had a blast celebrating the day!
